LIVE IN A PLACE YOU LOVE

I was standing in line at the checkout when a magazine headline caught my attention:

LIVE IN A PLACE YOU LOVE

The checkout line wasn’t moving anyway, so I let my thoughts drift, considering this idea.  I wondered, how many of us actually do love, really love, the place we call home? I started thinking about the process of how people search for what, for them, would be the perfect home.

I started thinking that if I could design a house I would really love to live in, what would it look like?  What would be most important?  What could I do without and what would I absolutely have to have to be happy there?

I realized that everyone is different so each house would be different.  And where that house was located would be important, too.

For some it might mean living close to family, for others a short job commute would be more important. A large rambling home may be the dream of one, but it could be that a one room shack shared with someone you love would be a palace to you.

Just as the line began to move forward, I remembered why I chose real estate as a career.  Because one of the most wonderful things about real estate is that it really isn’t about buildings.  It is all about people.  The memories they’ll make and the lives they’ll live inside those buildings.
